Wearing proper dance attire allows our instructors to:
To support this standard:
Let’s show up prepared, polished, and ready to shine—every class, every time!
To ensure the safety, comfort, and professionalism of every dancer at JLA Dance Academy, we require all students to arrive in appropriate dance attire and footwear for every class.
Proper footwear is essential for technique and safety.
Crocs, UGGs, sandals, and boots are not permitted in any class—especially sneaker-based classes. Dancers must wear the correct dance shoes for their specific style (jazz, ballet, hip hop, etc.).
JLA warm-ups may be worn during warm-up exercises, barre, and stretching.
However, they must be removed once technique and choreography begin.
Let’s keep our look clean, professional, and performance-ready—every class counts!
At JLA Dance Academy, each dance style requires specific attire to support proper technique, safety, and freedom of movement. Please review the guidelines below to ensure your dancer is prepared for class.
